lest you thought i was being melodramatic

Thank you for all your kind comments. You all are the best. We made a big blitz to get things more under control here yesterday. So some reason freaking the feck out makes everyone suddenly want to help.

But here's what it looked like yesterday when I wrote my last post.

Doesn't this make YOUR chest hurt? (I can't believe I'm posting these pictures on the internets.)

See those toys peaking out from under the couch? There were about 600 more you can't see.

Why does ANYONE have so many bats? And WHY in the dining room?

This IS our laundry/storage room, but if it wasn't so full of crap like this, some of the other things could be put away. (Like the bats, perhaps?)

Rocket Man's office

The never-ending laundry. Notice Lego City on the round table? This MUST. NOT. BE. TOUCHED.

I'll never be able to fulfill my dream of becoming a home design blogger now. My secret is out.

Purge girl, purge. You'll feel much better and chances are you guys won't miss half of the stuff. Many hugs and a few prayers. Love ya!

I am totally LOL that you took and then posted these pictures. I can totally sympathize.Clutter does my head in - sometimes I don't even realize how much until it's all cleared away and I feel this wave of Zen for the entire 5 minutes before the place is trashed again.
Take anyone of those pictures and transfer the stuff to my house and watch what happens when I ask DH "doesn't this mess drive you crazy?" I know the answer will be "what mess?" aaaargh!!!

I am not a neat freak. But again with the validation track, those pictures did, indeed, make my hear hurt. Seriously. That has got to be some serious time consuming work (not to mention mentally exhausting) keeping on top of that.

I love you even more today than I did yesterday. I always like people a little bit more when I see that they have times that their house is messy. Like mine. The only thing I'm mad at you about is that you didn't give us a close-up shot of Lego City.

thank you thank you thank you. Those pics look just like my house. Not anywhere near as bad as my playroom. But seriously, many of us are right there with you!!

My friend's book "Unclutter Your Life in One Week" is available on November 3. And she just became a mom yesterday, so I'm wondering if the sequel will be "Living with Clutter for the Next 18 Years" or if she'll figure out how to unclutter with a kid around. I'm not sure which I'm hoping for!

Ya know what, that DOES Make my chest hurt! I would be inclined to start scooping stuff into black trash bags and putting it to the curb before I had a chance to reconsider and regret it. We try to confine our clutter to certain zones, but it doesn't always work. Our neighbors live virtually clutter free and it drives me nuts that she can make that happen in her house.

Ima buy that book...

I'm with you. I don't have words of wisdom, but I can offer you company.

Hi. I'm Susan, and I just did my semi-annual foraging under the couch, fighting the dust bunnies. As in 5 minutes ago. It sucks. It really does.

Laundry -- and dusting -- and the lack of doing it -- can eat you alive.

P.S. I was only able to clean under the couch because my parents were here visiting.

I'm not proud of that.
